European Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas visited the islands of Kos and Leros on Saturday with Migration & Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi, ANA reports.
On Twitter, Schinas noted in Greek: “Visiting the refugee reception and identification facility at the remote island of Leros with Minister Mitarachi, inspecting the construction of the new facility which is 100 pct funded by the EU and will operate by the most modern European standards. The significant reduction in the migration influx allows for the improvement of conditions. Europe is standing by Greece.”
The two men also visited similar facilities at Kos island on Saturday.
