The new cabinet is a government “focused on implementing the great reform goals which Kyriakos Mitsotakis has set, prepared to clash with long-term ills in order to promote changes in critical sectors,” Maximos Mansion sources said on Monday, according to ANA.
After the announcement of the new ministers, sources said that the new cabinet “was not meant to keep balances, but to set to hard work.” It features many more women, a rotation of ministers who assume new significant roles, new officials from the parliamentary group, individuals from the greater reform-oriented sector and local government, and general secretaries of ministries that are upgraded to ministerial level, they added.
The new cabinet includes 15 women (25% of all ministers), from 9 in the last cabinet: 4 are ministers, 1 is an alternate minister, and 10 are deputy ministers.
In terms of age, the new cabinet is also younger, sources said: the average age is 53 years, while 45% of the cabinet members are in their forties.
