Greek parliament greenilights postal ballot for Europarliament elections

The bill allowing Greeks living abroad to vote by mail-in ballots in European Parliament elections in Greece and national referendums was approved on Wednesday in parliament, in principle, with 158 votes supporting it, all belonging to the ruling New Democracy, ANA reports.

Another 135 rejected it while 6 deputies voted ‘present’.

The amendment allowing Greeks living abroad to vote in national elections was rejected because it did not collect the required majority vote of 200. A total of 158 deputies voted for it, 135 rejected it, and 6 deputies voted ‘present’.
