Greece’s Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias met on Thursday with the Ambassador of France Laurence Auer.
According to a statement by the ministry, Kikilias briefed Auer extensively on Greece’s initiatives in the field of prevention and response to natural disasters., ANA reports.
He made special reference to AIGIS, the biggest investment program in the history of civil protection in Greece, which is being implemented with European funds secured by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
He also thanked France for its assistance during the 2024 fire season. For her part, Auer thanked Greece for sending a forest firefighting unit to France during the same period.
