Admission of students to the Ministry of Tourism's Guide Schools announced

By decision of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms. Anna Karamanli, the admission of students and the approval of operation for the 2025-2027 academic period to the Ministry’s Guide Schools in Athens, Thessaloniki and Rhodes were announced.

These are 26 students for the Athens Guide School, 23 students for the Thessaloniki Guide School and 26 students for the Rhodes Guide School.

The Ministry of Tourism’s Guide Schools accept Greek citizens or citizens of member states of the European Union, as well as citizens of third countries outside the European Union, after selection, provided that they reside legally in the country and meet the terms of the announcement.

All candidates must:

– Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the Greek language either by graduating from a high school where the language of instruction is Greek or from a Greek tertiary educational institution, or by a certificate of Greek language proficiency at level C2/C2 from the Greek Language Center.

– Not have been irrevocably convicted of a felony or any of the misdemeanors of theft, embezzlement, fraud, extortion, forgery, counterfeiting, serious bodily harm, violation of the provisions on drugs or the provisions referring to morals, based on a copy of a general criminal record.

– To have fulfilled their military obligations at the time of registration or to have been legally exempted from them or to have a deferral period sufficient to complete their studies at the Guide School to which they are applying, based on a certificate of military status.

Upon submitting the announcement of the practice of the profession, graduates of the School must have fulfilled their military obligations or to have been legally exempted from them.

The advertised positions for the admission of students to each School are covered at a rate of 45% by graduates of General or Vocational High School, at a rate of 45% by graduates of tertiary education and at a rate of 10% by graduates of the Higher Schools of Tourism Education (ASTE) of the Ministry of Tourism. Candidates can only choose one of the education categories (PE or ASTE or DE), based on which they wish to be awarded points at each School, but they have the right to declare a different education category at a different School.

Example: A tertiary education graduate can apply as a PE to the Athens Guide School and as a DE to the Thessaloniki Guide School, but cannot apply as a PE and as a DE to the Athens Guide School.
