“We are working to make autism – a hitherto invisible disability – visible,” Deputy Labour Minister responsible for Welfare and Social Solidarity, Domna Michailidou, noted on Sunday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
Analyzing the holistic intervention plan, elaborated by the ministry, the main axes of which emphasize early detection from preschool age, training and interconnection with the labor market, as well as autonomous living, Michailidou pointed out that early diagnosis and subsequent early intervention can change the course of this disorder by up to 50 pct and alleviate a de facto disability.
