Dior, the French fashion house is launching it’s first pop-up store in Mykonos island this summer.
From the 15th June till the 15th October, Christian Dior will open its summer pop-up shop at the upscale Nammos shopping village in Mykonos, a renowned summer destination visited by celebrities from all around the globe.
To celebrate the special occasion of the first store opening on the Greek island of Mykonos, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s Artistic Director has designed an exclusive capsule collection for the store.
The collection includes striped bodysuits, cashmere sweaters, silk scarves and cotton pareos featuring the words “J’Adior Mykonos” (I love Mykonos). The pop-up store will also sell bracelets, sandals and ballerina pumps with the words “Christian Dior Mykonos”. Not to mention one of the most impressive pieces in the collection is the tote bag with the name of the island, ‘Mykonos’ woven into the canvas.
Exclusive to the Mykonos pop-up store, the boutique will also offer an advanced selection of the brand’s Fall/Winter collection accessories including Dior Oblique zipped pouches, DiorClub1 visors, baseball caps, berets and a Dior addict bag that can be accessorised with a choice of five straps. These items will be available in Dior boutiques worldwide from mid-July.
Though Dior has no permanent store on the Greek island, the brand has always had a close link to Mykonos. Founder Christian Dior in the early fifties stayed at the magnificent Cycladic Island, helping to popularise the local handwoven fabrics. His designs that year in 1953 featured strong Greek influences that inspired him during his visit, with dresses carrying names such as ‘Athènes’, ‘Corfou’ and ‘Rhodes’.
