NEW YORK – Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece and his wife Crown Princess Marie Chantal purchased a $16.5 million Southampton estate, according to the Real Deal, the New York Post reported, adding that Greece abolished the monarchy in the 1970s.
The 13,000-square-foot property is located at 385 Great Plains Road, the Post report continued, noting the “sale price marks a hefty discount — a nearly 40% drop from the listing’s original $27 million asking price in 2009. The following years saw a relisting in 2012 for $25.8 million. The price dropped to $19 million in 2017 before rising $3 million to $22 million in 2018.”
According to the Post, “the Real Deal identified the seller as socialite Ulla Parker, who swapped brokers and rented out the spread during the course of its decade-plus listing history.”
The mansion has “10 bedrooms and eight bathrooms,” and is “set on 3.44 acres, the shingled spread additionally features fireplaces, oversize paned windows and a large chef’s kitchen accented with wide-plank floors,” the Post reported.
“A wood-paneled library, a gym, a tennis court, and a pool,” are noted in the Post report which also noted that “Djida Oppenheim of Saunders & Associates marketed the listing” and “Andrea Ackerman of Brown Harris Stevens brought the buyer.”
