Continuing the short-haul travel theme, Italy secured third spot (9.8%) for its designer shopping, cuisine and relative proximity to the UK. Meanwhile, the Netherlands was the fourth most popular destination (7%) due to sightseeing opportunities and busy calendar of events and concerts.

The most popular long-haul destination for TourBar’s UK solo travellers this spring is the Dominican Republic (6.7%) with members reporting its beaches and sightseeing opportunities as the main reason they planned to visit. Staycations in the UK took the joint 6th position alongside Cyprus (6%).
