Greece has witnessed a 0.6% increase in road arrivals during 2016 compared with the corresponding period of 2015, reaching an overall total of 12 millions, according to Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) data.
In December an increase of almost 6% was recorded from last year, with 746,594 arrivals.
The sharpest increases annually were recorded at the border stations of Merzani (+ 221.5% at 117,550 arrivals), Doirani (+ 158%, with 431,180 arrivals) while a large portion of traffic was recorded in Promachonas (1.6 million) and Nymphaea (1.4 million).
