SETE chief Andreadis: Greeks working abroad inflate traffic data of Athens Airport

Greeks that are currently working abroad inflate the traffic data of Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, President of Greek Tourism Confederation SETE Andreas Andreadis said.

Mr. Andreadis commented on the foreign arrivals figures of “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport during January noting that all the traffic growth of the Athens terminal came from Greeks who are currently stationed abroad and not from actual foreign visitors.

Moreover, he cited SETE Intelligence data indicating that the final airline seats planning foresees for only one more million additional seats for 2017 regarding all tourist destinations in the country, except Athens, a number which is far below the original programming for 3.5 million additional airline seats.
