The “Sunday Times” features the 50 best beaches in Europe, following a survey among readers and recording the impressions of the thousands of tourists who visit their favorite beach during their summer vacation each year.
11 Greek beaches ranked among Europe’s best. Two of those are in the Sporades islands, one in Skopelos and the other I Skiathos.
At the top was the beautiful Glyfoneri beach in Skopelos.
Porto Katsiki (Lefkada) was 3rd, followed by the beaches of Gidaki (Ithaca), The Shipwreck (Zante), Voidokilia (Messinia), Maratha (Skiathos), Paliorema (Milos), Ambeli (Folegandros), The Seychelles (Ikaria) and Sougia (Crete).
