The recently opened Baha Mar resort, in the Bahamas, is hiring a CFO, travelandleisure.com notes and clarifies that you don’t have to be a finance expert to apply.
The CFO at this $4.2-billion Nassau resort will actually be the Chief Flamingo Officer, responsible for supervising the resort’s flamingos that, Cosmopolitan noted, will arrive this spring. The title is interchangeable with Avian Manager.
While the position is open to applicants from all over the globe, it is not simply for flamingo fans.
Successful applicants will have a degree in zoology or comparable field experience, a minimum of five years of experience working with exotic birds (flamingos, specifically), at least one year of experience as a supervisor or manager, and many other related skills.
According to the job posting, the Chief Flamingo Officer will work with Baha Mar’s chief scientist to care for the resident flock of flamingos, set to arrive this spring. Duties include managing the diet and habitat requirements of the birds, overseeing the breeding programs, treating sick or injured animals, and providing educational tours for resort guests. The CFO and flamingos will work together in the resort’s “Flamingo Mansion,” a massive indoor-outdoor habitat built specifically for the species. The program is part of the the Baha Mar Ecological, Aquatic Conservation Habitat Sanctuary (BEACH Sanctuary)—a space dedicated to preserving and celebrating the wildlife of the Bahamas, cntraveler.com adds.
