The head of Western Greece Region Apostolos Katsifaras expressed optimism that conditions have been created so that the region of Western Greece is a distinct tourist destination. In particular, he referred to the estimates for an increase in tourism in 2018, particularly from the tourist markets of France, Germany, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and Belarus, ANA reports.
“The messages are positive. We are expecting a new record of arrivals,” he noted, referring also to the upward trends recorded in 2017, with a 22 pct increase in arrivals at Araxos Airport, 21 pct at Aktion Airport, 12 pct at Patras Port and 15 pcr at Katakolo Port.
