Cosmopolitan Mykonos turns to research center for congestion solutions

The island of Mykonos is collaborating with the Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH) on plans to relieve congestion on the popular island, where tens of thousands of tourists converge in the summer months, ANA reports.

One in seven residents in Greece lives on an island, where space in residential zones is rather limited. The summer months, when the influx of tourists provides islands with the majority of their annual revenue, problems in pedestrian and motor traffic spike.
