The recent international distinctions of Andros have caused a sensation in view of the upcoming 2025 season.
Andros took first place in the annual list of the 11 best places in the world proposed by the travel blog “Where Life Is Great”, after trips to four continents and research on new travel trends, which is carried out every year by the blog’s editorial team.
“Who could have imagined that less than three hours from Athens there is an impressive destination that offers unforgettable experiences without having to waste time on transportation when paradise is right next door?” Tours of “secret” villages, explorations in unique caves, and enjoyment of nature on dreamy beaches are some of the favorite habits described by blogger Marta Ostogia from her visit to Andros, which occurred after an invitation from the Municipality and hospitality with the support of the local business network CTN Andros.

In her extensive article, the experienced blogger and photographer who has traveled to 50 countries around the world and has over 560,000 professional photographs to her credit, highlights the traditional alleys, the picturesque fishing villages, the extensive pedestrian network, the unique architecture of Andros, as well as the characteristic local delicacies such as froutalia and almond cakes, while emphasizing the suitability of the destination for holidays before and after summer.
Moreover, Andros also achieved a new international first at the beginning of the year as it was ranked at the top of the annual list of the multi-award-winning travel blog wanderlicious.co.uk, regarding the most suitable European destinations for holidays before the high season.

The blog urges its thousands of readers from Great Britain, the USA, Germany, and Australia to prefer Europe in April, emphasizing that “the climatic conditions are favorable, the summer crowds do not prevail, nature is blooming and the experience is magical”. Continuing the article, the blogger who was hosted at the initiative of the Municipality of Andros and the support of CTN Andros, concludes:
“Andros is number one on the list. The beautiful Cycladic island doesn’t look like the usual over-touristy places but is more peaceful, greener, and absolutely dreamy in April. The hiking trails are on another level and take you through lush valleys, waterfalls, and impressive viewpoints, while its untouched beaches are something special. The town has beautiful buildings, cute cafes, and museums, and Batsi is a great seaside option.
As an ideal destination for foodies, Andros is famous for its tavernas, local delicacies, local cheese,s, and traditional recipes. The second largest island in the Cyclades will give you the perfect spring break, full of sunny weather and delicious food.
The Municipal Tourism Advisor of the Municipality of Andros, Nikos Moustakas, added to Tornos News that “the destination has the “raw materials” to provide remarkable travel experiences outside the high season. The messages we receive are optimistic, however, the effort must be continuous from all sides in order to respond to this very important challenge of extending the tourist season.”
According to the eight-year data of the Andros Port Authority, for 2024 the destination recorded a record number of arrivals for the months outside the tourist peak, May and June, with 25,238 and 38,963 arrivals respectively. September arrivals were also in the same context, which was the largest in the last eight years with 29,297 passengers and an increase of 17.9% compared to 2023.
