Corfu | Cooperation of bodies with a common identity and tourism strategy

Corfu joins forces to highlight its tourism identity. In this context, a meeting was held at the Historic Town Hall of Corfu, where the responsible deputy mayors and representatives of the three municipalities of the island (Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, North Corfu and South Corfu), together with the president of the Corfu Chamber, laid the foundations of a unified strategy for the tourism development of the destination.

In fact, with the aim of promoting Corfu as a top tourist destination, it was decided to conclude a memorandum of cooperation that will incorporate a common identity (branding), a unified strategy in tourist exhibitions and publicity campaigns, as well as actions to enrich the tourism product. In addition, educational programs are planned that will enhance the quality of services and sustainability.

All attendees unanimously agreed that Corfu is a unique destination with a distinct identity, which deserves to be promoted in a unified and coordinated manner. The cooperation of the three municipalities and the alliance with the Region of the Ionian Islands, as well as with productive and touristic entities, are the way for Corfu to respond to the modern challenges of competition and sustainable development.

With this partnership, Corfu sends a resounding message of cooperation and aspires to conquer the hearts of its visitors from every corner of the world.
