The invitation for the implemetation of all required geological and geotechnical surveys and studies has been now published by Attiko Metro. Interested parties are invited to submit their bids on June 20th and one day later they shall be unsealed.

Only two months ago, a tender for topographic surveys had started, which was the beginning for the maturation of the project that will essentially bring the Metro to “Makedonia” Airport.

This regards the extension of Metro Line 2, which starts from the New Railway Station and, reaching Patrikios Station, continues to Kalamaria and from Mikra Station (future terminal of Kalamaria Branch), it will follow an overground route, with an overhead bridge for about 5.5 km. The stations that are planned to be constructed on the extension are: SCHOLI POLEMOU, IKEA, PRASINA FANARIA and terminal station MAKEDONIA AIRPORT.

The cost of the studies reaches 2.97m euros (incl. VAT., excl. VAT: 2.4m euros). Funding of the studies will be covered by the Public Investments Program. The duration of the contract is set at 24 months from its signing.

The scope of the contract provides for the execution of geological and geotechnical surveys and studies in order to investigate the subsoil in the region of the extension of Thessaloniki Metro both to “Makedonia Airport” as well as the extension of Pylea Depot.
