Public transportation in Athens will operate on a normal day schedule on Friday, May 1, the staff decided on Wednesday, “to celebrate Labor Day in a different way because of the coronavirus pandemic,” ANA reports.
This means that Athens metro lines 2 and 3 (red and blue), the tram, buses, and trolleys will operate on a weekday schedule, as this has been shaped by the pandemic measures.
The electric train (ISAP), nevertheless, the urban railroad, and all TrainOSE schedules (for the organization’s buses as well) will suspend operation on Friday to celebrate the day with a 24-hour strike called by the General Confederation of Workers of Greece. The suspension of urban railways on Friday will affect the stops between Doukissis Plakentias and the Airport, as this part of the blue line is managed by TrainOSE.
Also suspended by the railroad company are the schedules between Serres and Thessaloniki on Thursday and Saturday (trains 3631, 3632).
