Three american airlines will connect Athens directly to New York, Greece’s Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura confirmed.
According to her, Delta Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines will operate the aforementioned connection during the summer of 2016.
Speaking on newgreektv.com, Ms. Kountoura also revealed that she proposed to Aegean Airlines linking Greece directly with North America, so that a reliable Greek airline reactivates the line.
For the time being, however, it seems unattainable to satisfy Greek expats’ standard request for a direct Athens – New York connection throughout the year, despite various political interventions by Rhode Island MP Leonidas Raptakis and others.
