In the future, Airberlin will operate additional flights to highly-demanded touristic destinations from Dusseldorf. As of May 2016, it increases the number of flights to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and further increase its capacity to Mallorca.
With an additional weekly service, the company will then fly to Puerto Plata every Monday and Wednesday with an A330-200. airberlin will also operate an additional flight to Punta Cana from May, with its three weekly services then departing every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. These additional flights will have excellent connections via the hub.
“Airberlin continues to expand its services to popular medium and long-haul tourist destinations. The demand for crisis-free destinations such as the Balearic Islands, the Canaries or the Caribbean increased sharply during recent weeks. We therefore intend to further increase capacity on flights to Mallorca in the forthcoming summer schedule. We continue to be a strong partner for Dusseldorf airport where our service levels remain as high as ever”, said Stefan Pichler, Chief Executive Officer of airberlin.
