Passenger traffic at the Athens International Airport rose significantly in March by 17.1% – 1.29 million passengers – and setting a new record for the month, the airport said in a press release on Monday.
According to official data, domestic traffic rose 16% last month to 511,642 passengers compared to the same period last year, while international arrivals rose 11.9% to 775,883 people.
For the first quarter of the year, which marked 15 years of operation for Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, passenger traffic went up 15.7% to 3,450,663 million passengers, which is another record.
