Two flaps fault incidents upset United Airlines Athens-Newark passengers

The passengers on United Airlines flight from Athens to Newark experienced a great inconvenience when the aircraft had to return to Athens airport after 1,5 hours of flight, since a flaps fault was recorded.

The aircraft took off at 13:08 and returned to the airport after 1.5 hours to dump its fuel, according to the landing regulations, so as to fix the fault.

However, the same incident happened again, since the aircraft’s fault was not fixed and passengers traveled on the same aircraft.

This time, though, the aircraft dumped its fuel over Tzia and Mykonos islands and, then, returned to Athens airport.

These two repeated incidents caused the anger and frustration of the passengers, while many of them are determined not to get off the plane until a representative of the company meets them to negotiate their compensation for this double inconvenience they experienced within 24 hours.
