The government of Turkey has given prior consent to the extension of the program to support international Charter flights until the end of the year, according to the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR).
The validity of payments to foreign organizers of the Charter in the amount of six thousand dollars per flight ends August 31. However, in connection with the resumption of organized tourist flows from Russia, the Turkish government decided to extend this programme.
Thus, the Republic’s authorities want to stimulate Russian companies to send more flights at the local resorts. It is expected that a formal decision of the government of Turkey on this issue will be accepted until the end of August.
Currently Charter flights between the two countries resumed. On Friday, July 8, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev requested that the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within a week submit to the government proposals for the renewal of non-scheduled operations in Turkey.
On June 30, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin requested the government to resume charter flights and selling of tours to Turkey.
