A woman jetting off on a romantic getaway with her partner was left stunned after she ended up tying the knot at 35,000 feet, dailymail.co.uk reports.
Nathaly Eiche thought she and her long-term boyfriend Jurgen Bogner were flying from their home in Vienna to Athens for a holiday.
However, her sales executive partner had other – far more ambitious – plans in mind.
As they sat in their seats in the emergency exit row of the Austrian Airlines flight, a choir started to sing Bruno Mars‘ hit ‘Marry You’.
Then Jurgen got down on one knee produced an engagement ring as other passengers watched, absolutely gripped.
Model Nathaly, who was born in Tallinn, Estonia, immediately said ‘yes’.
But Jurgen didn’t stop there.
Elegant wedding dress
He produced an elegant wedding dress, supplied by designer boutique Brautmoden Vondru, along with two rings, witnesses and even an official to carry out the ceremony.
It soon became clear that the couple’s holiday to Greece was actually going to be their honeymoon.
The bride swapped out of her polka dot blouse into the lace fishtail gown and put her hair into a delicate updo complete with a flower tucked into her bun.
Then with a beautiful bouquet of white roses she walked down the aeroplane aisle, while a violinist serenaded the happy couple.
Austrian Airlines were in the know and even provided the pair with a special wedding cake.
The moment was shared online by blogger Tatjana Catic who happened to be sitting next to Nathaly and couldn’t contain her excitement.
Landing in Athens as a wife
She posted a video of their ‘I do’s’ on Instagram that has been seen almost 70,000 times, writing: ‘YES!! THIS just happened on my flight from Vienna to Athens – I witnessed a surprise proposal AND wedding on board (I’m so excited, I was sitting right next to the bride and got sooo emotional when her boyfriend surprised her) PS: Congrats to the #charming couple!!’
Nathaly later updated her friends and family about her joy at leaving Vienna as a girlfriend and landing in Athens as a wife.
She wrote on Facebook: ‘When you’re taking off in Vienna and you think you are heading on a short holiday vacay with your bff and it turns out, the next time you touch the ground your whole world has turned around.’
She added another picture on Instagram of the two of them leaving the plane, pulling a suitcase saying ‘Just Married’, writing: ‘When at the end of the day everything has changed but the most important part of your life has grown even closer.’
Nathaly admitted in another post that the pair were ‘overwhelmed by all your good wishes’. She said: ‘This is all too good to be true! Feels like a dream!’
