Strategic cooperation of Oman Air with Goldair in Greece

The introduction of Oman Air, the Sultanate of Oman’s airline, to the greek market was celebrated last Tuesday in a reception atop historic Lycabettus Hill in Athens. Greek Travel agencies and media representatives enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and breathtaking view of the Acropolis.

Oman Air revealed its expansion plans and its collaboration with Goldair S.A, its exclusive representative in Greece.

The Managing Director of Goldair Group, Mr. Kostas Tsovilis welcomed the entrance of the 4 Star Skytrax Airline to the Greek Market and stressed the importance of opening a new network for Greek market.  The extensive network of Oman Air will greatly facilitate the movement of seamen as well as transport of corporate and leisure passengers.

The Regional Vice President of Oman Air for Europe, Mr Rogier de Jager stressed the major role Oman Air has played since its founding in 1993 in making Muscat a key traffic hub in the Middle East. Oman Air supports the Sultanate’s commercial, industrial and tourism sectors and now strives to embrace Greece into the already expanded company’s flight network in Europe.

Direct international flights

The carrier currently operates direct international flights from Muscat to Gulf destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Medina, Tehran, Mashhad and Kuwait, as well as Cairo, Beirut and Amman within the wider Middle East/Africa region.

In addition, Oman Air flies to destinations in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The airline also flies to Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta, Zanzibar and Dar Es Salaam. Its European destinations are London, Milan, Munich, Frankfurt, Paris and Zurich.

Oman Air’s domestic destinations are Salalah, Khasab, Duqum and Sohar. 

Also present at the event were Mr. Mourad Aoulad El Haj, Pan European & Offline Sales Manager for Oman Air, Mrs. Mary Grigoriadou, Commercial Manager for Goldair S.A and Mrs Evi Voudiklari, Public Relations Manager for Goldair Group.

The following morning a meeting of the two companies took place at Goldair S.A’s. central offices, where the next steps of this promising cooperation were established.
