Ryanair £2 holiday slammed by mum after carrier charged £40 for 6-month-old

A Mum has slammed Ryanair’s £2 flight promotion as a “scam” after claims the company tried to charge her an extra £40 to bring her six-month-old baby along, thesun.co.uk reports.

Harjinder Kaur, 37, tried to book flights from Birmingham International to Dublin after hearing about the promotion online this morning.

Excited Harjinder tried to book flights online for her, her partner Jaspal Singh, 43, and their two children Arihan and Jia – but was stunned to be hit with hidden charges after finally making it through to the booking page.

Harjinder told the Sun Online: “It’s a scam. I was trying to book online since 8am this morning, and every time I got onto the booking page it threw me out.

“There were loads of problems, it would crash or take off one of the people on the booking.

“Eventually I ended up calling Ryanair to book over the phone – but they told me I needed to pay an extra £20 to do that so I said no.”

The University lecturer, from the West Midlands, finally made it through to the booking page on Ryanair’s website – only to be hit with the blow bringing her six-month-old son would cost the family an extra £20 each way.

Harjinder says she received no explanation of why the extra charges were in place for the tot – and claims there were no warnings on the website.
