Aerol?neas Argentinas has designated Discover the World as its General Sales Agent (GSA)for Greece and Cyprus after 1 July 2017.
The decision was made after an assessment of the available options in the Greek market. Aerol?neas has had a successful long-term relationship with Discover the World in countries such as Israel and Switzerland and expects to further develop its business opportunities in Greece through its new partnership.
The decision to strengthen its presence in the Greek market was encouraged by the increased transatlantic capacity developed between Argentina and Europe. At present, Aerol?neas serves Argentina from Spain and Italy, with direct flights from Madrid, Barcelona and Rome.
Aerol?neas offers daily flights from Madrid and has recently increased the routes from 4 to 5 times a week from Barcelona. Rome’s routes have recently been upgraded four times a week to a daily service from July 2017. All flights are operated by Airbus 330 and 340. Greek passengers will enjoy daily direct connections via Madrid, Barcelona and Rome, with routes from / to Athens being covered by other SkyTeam air carriers.
Dinos Frantzeskakis, Director of Discover the World, said: “Aerol?neas Argentinas has been a long-established presence on our market for a few years. We are pleased to announce that this important player in the South American aviation market has decided to invest in the Greek market once again, defining Discover the World as GSA, now that the link between Athens and Buenos Aires has more choices. “
