AEGEAN | Two new international destinations from Athens

Two new international destinations from Athens and seven new direct domestic flights from regional bases are the latest additions to AEGEAN’s network for 2025.
In particular, from the beginning of the new year, AEGEAN will connect Athens with Iraq, with direct flights from Athens Airport to Erbil International Airport starting on February 23 and operating twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday. Shortly thereafter, and specifically on April 14, 2025, the company’s direct flights from Athens to Azerbaijan will also restart, which will be operated every Monday and Friday with Airbus 320neo aircraft.

In the domestic network, AEGEAN is adding four new direct routes from Heraklion to Rhodes, Naxos, Corfu, and Kos, while from the island of Rhodes, two more direct flights to Chania and Santorini will be operated from June 2025.

More specifically, flights from Heraklion “Nikos Kazantzakis” airport to Rhodes “Diagoras” airport will be operated daily, with the first flight scheduled for March 2025, while from June, routes from Heraklion to Kos – with three weekly flights -, Naxos and Corfu, with 2 weekly flights respectively, will also start. Flights connecting Rhodes with Chania will be operated with an ATR 42-600 aircraft twice a week and are already scheduled to increase to four in the middle of the tourist season, while flights from Rhodes to Santorini will be operated three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Finally, from June 2025, the company will also directly connect the Thessaloniki base with the island of Syros, with three weekly flights every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

It is recalled that AEGEAN has already strengthened its activity on the existing routes from Athens to Istanbul (4 daily routes) and to Izmir (5 weekly routes) since October 2024, while with the start of the 2025 summer program, it is adding new direct flights from Heraklion, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Santorini to Istanbul. More specifically, from April 2025 and throughout the summer season, Heraklion and Santorini will be connected to Istanbul with 2 weekly flights, which will increase to 4 during the peak season, while from June 2025, direct flights to and from Istanbul will also be operated from Mykonos and Rhodes (2 weekly flights respectively).

It is noted that AEGEAN has been operating to London Heathrow with 4 daily flights since the beginning of 2024, while the frequencies of flights, the seats offered, and the company’s activity in areas of the Balkans, such as Tirana and Sofia, as well as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirate,s have increased with the addition of a new direct route from Athens to Abu Dhabi. A similar increase is also recorded in other traditional markets of interest to the Greek public, such as Berlin, Barcelona, ??Madrid, and Lisbon. Finally, it is recalled that on February 13, as already announced, the company’s new direct flights from Athens to Las Palmas will begin, while from the beginning of June, Heraklion will be connected directly to Metz in France.

The flights are already available in the booking systems.
