The number of tourists in North Macedonia for the period January – October 2024 increased by 8.8% compared to the same period last year in 2023, while the number of overnight stays increased by 5.5%, according to the latest data from the State Statistical Service of North Macedonia.
The number of tourists in October 2024 was 107,672, of which 25.8% were domestic tourists and 74.2% were foreign tourists. The number of overnight stays in October 2024 was 211,611, of which 32.5% were domestic and the remaining 67.5% were foreign tourists.
Meanwhile, low-cost carrier Easyjet plans to return to the North Macedonian market in spring 2025 with the introduction of flights between Paris (Orly airport) and Skopje. With the new service, the airline will return to Skopje after suspending operations from Geneva in November. It will also expand the connection between the country and France, which will be developed together with WizzAir’s planned new flights to Lyon, which will also start in 2025.
