AF001, Air France’s signature room fragrance – a first in history

For the first time in its history, Air France has launched a signature room fragrance, AF001. To create this fragrance, the airline has entrusted the talent of Francis Kurkdjian, the leading perfumer and artistic director of Maison Francis Kurkdjian. This is another opportunity for Air France to demonstrate the excellence of French know-how around the world.

From January 15, 2025, this fragrance will be gradually introduced at the entrance of some Air France lounges at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, as a welcome at the beginning of a journey. Customers will discover the fragrance in the lobby, the lounge and the La Premi?re suites, as well as in the lounges located in terminals 2E halls L and M, 2F and 2G. Air France will gradually introduce the fragrance to its other lounges in Paris and around the world over the coming months.

Creating a sense of space, calm and light, AF001 accompanies travelers in style. Its sweet scent, combined with notes of mimosa from the south of France, adds a sunny, natural intensity. Its delicate floral aura with hints of jasmine and rose, takes passengers on a real journey, capturing a moment in time.

AF001, the first trip is a fragrance

A reference to the legendary Concorde flights between New York and Paris in the late 1970s, the name AF001 immediately brings to mind the world of Air France and its special codes for air travel. It also reminds travelers of their first trip.

“I am very proud to have created the first Air France room fragrance,” said Francis Kurkdjian. “It was the illusion of a ray of sunshine on the wings of an aircraft that inspired me to create this light and fresh scent that soothes you at home.”

“The Air France travel experience now elevates all five senses: sight, with the haute couture uniforms of our staff, the interior of our cabin and the thoughtful design of our lounges, taste with the delicious dishes on the in-flight menus, touch with the soft fabrics of our seats, sound with our playlists during the journey, and now smell with this prestigious signature scent,” added Fabien Pelous, SVP Customer Experience at Air France.

This fragrance, the result of more than two years of work, reveals an additional sensory experience that reinforces the identity of the company. It is the first part of a journey that celebrates the French art of living in its entirety.
