The further development of tourism cooperation between Greece and the Shanghai Region was the subject of a working dinner held yesterday (Thursday 23.1) by the General Secretary of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Andreas Fiorentinos, and a Chinese delegation at a central Athens hotel, with the mayor of the Chinese city, Gong Zheng, as the guest of honor.
During the meeting, Mr. Fiorentinos explained to the Chinese delegation the prospects that are opening up between the two sides, especially after the establishment of direct Shanghai-Athens flights by Juneyao Air, which brought over 50,000 Chinese to the Greek capital. As the General Secretary pointed out, According to the Greek National Tourism Organization, this result was achieved through a program of four weekly flights from April to the end of October, with a prospect of increasing them for 2025.
The event was also attended from the Greek side by the Director of Communication & Marketing of Athens International Airport, Ioanna Papadopoulou, and the President of FEDHATTA, Lysandros Tsilidis, and from the Chinese side by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Greece, Fang Qiu, the Secretary of the Embassy, ??Li Ying, and the Chairman of the Board of the airline company Juneyao Air, Wang Junjin.
