Aegean has planned a 40% increase in available seats from Saudi Arabia since last year 2025, while it aims to increase the frequency of both direct routes from Athens to Riyadh and Jeddah.
This was pointed out by Aegean’s Director of Network and Airline Partnerships, Mr. Ioannis Rasoglou, in the context of an event organized by the Greek Embassy and the Greek Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Alexis Konstantopoulos, in honor of AEGEAN.
Mr. Rasoglu pointed out that the airline’s goal is to strengthen its presence and activity in the Saudi Arabian market by expanding its customer base and at the same time contributing to the further development of bilateral relations, tourist flows, and economic relations between the two countries.
During the event, more than 150 members of the Greek community, tour operators, and other local stakeholders had the opportunity to talk to the company’s executives and be informed about AEGEAN’s news.
The event was held as part of a mission by Aegean’s commercial management, led by Roland Jaggi, Chief Commercial Officer, to Saudi Arabia, specifically to Jeddah and Riyadh, a few days after the successful visit of the national delegation to the country.
During the visit to Saudi Arabia, the focus of the company’s representatives’ discussions with partners and tourism and air transport stakeholders was AEGEAN’s 10-year presence in Saudi Arabia, the company’s continued investment in the region, the new direct routes and the prospects for strengthening tourist flows between Greece and Saudi Arabia.
