A new seasonal connection to Heraklion from Jeddah will be offered in the summer of 2025 by the national carrier of Saudi Arabia and a member of Skyteam, Saudia Airlines.
The new route to Heraklion is scheduled to start on June 20 and will operate until September 5, 2025, with a frequency of 2 times a week and an A321neo aircraft, but for selected flights and an A320.
The flights will operate as follows
SV193 JED1045 – 1400HER 321 5
SV193 JED1225 – 1540HER 321 2
SV194 HER1455 – 1815JED 321 5
SV194 HER1635 – 1955JED 321 2
The carrier is also adding a new Riyadh – Larnaca connection, from June 17 to September 7, with a frequency of 3 times a week and an A320 aircraft and for selected flights A321neo.
Saudia stopped the connection with Larnaca in April 1991, while the Riyadh – Larnaca route was operated until September 1990.
It is noted that the company has extended the period of operation of the Jeddah – Athens route. The connection with Athens this year will begin on June 3 and will be completed on September 6. It will be operated with a 321neo aircraft, with 188 seats, but also with an A320, with a frequency of 3 times a week. In the summer of 2024, the period of operation of the route was from June 6 to August 24.
Other destination additions
In addition, new seasonal routes are being added from Jeddah to Antalya, El Dabaa, Salalah, and Venice, and from Riyadh to Antalya, El Dabaa, Jakarta, and Venice.
Saudia will operate the Riyadh – London (Gatwick) connection with changes, replacing one of the 3 daily flights to Heathrow, while from April 3 the Jeddah – Vienna connection, which was operated until March 2024, will also return.
The addition of a weekly Jeddah-Singapore-Denpasar flight, which begins on April 2, was also recently announced.
The company operates 530 daily flights, connecting more than 100 destinations on four continents with Saudi Arabia, utilizing a modern fleet of 144 aircraft. This contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in the sectors of tourism, entertainment, sports, and pilgrimage.
At the same time, there are plans to expand the aircraft target with 130 new ones in the coming years, which will increase flight frequencies and capacity to existing destinations and “open” new ones.
