Jet2 Group | Flights from Luton begin – Heraklion, Rhodes, and Zakynthos on the schedule

  • With more than 430,000 seats available, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are launching their flights from Luton Airport today (Tuesday), further strengthening their network. For Greece, flights begin tomorrow, April 2, to Heraklion. Flights to Rhodes and Zakynthos will follow.

The UK’s largest travel business and its subsidiary airline will serve 17 destinations this summer, including exclusive routes to Girona and Verona.

Two new Airbus A321neo will be based at Luton, operating up to 36 flights per week during peak periods. At the same time, more than 125 new jobs have been created, including flight attendants, engineers, and ground staff.

The launch of Jet2’s 13th UK base, following the addition of Bournemouth in February, strengthens air connections to popular tourist destinations in Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Italy, the Canary and Balearic Islands, and of course, Greece.

Scheduled flights to Greece

Greece maintains a strong presence on Jet2’s flight schedule from Luton, with flights to:

  • Heraklion, Crete: Every Wednesday from April 2.
  • Rhodes: Every Saturday from April 5.
  • Zakynthos: Every Wednesday from May 7.

The company announced that the response from travelers to holidays via Luton has been “impressive”, which led it to make the first packages available for the winter 2025-26. The winter network will include eight sunny destinations with more than 140,000 seats and up to 19 flights per week.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: “The launch from Luton is a strong one across the board. Our customers already know our philosophy of family-friendly, quality holidays at affordable prices and are now experiencing it first-hand. Our expansion from Luton, following Bournemouth, underlines our confidence in the success of our product.”

Luton Airport CEO Alberto Martin added: “The addition of Jet2 has generated great excitement. The new summer schedule offers more choice for travellers choosing Luton for their holidays.”
