Emirates | Expanding Premium Economy Class to New Destinations

Emirates is adding more upgraded Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft to its existing routes to Shanghai and Zurich, expanding routes to Milan, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, and simultaneously upgrading its services to Shanghai, Singapore, and Zurich by strengthening flights via A380 aircraft.

Emirates is adjusting its flight schedule, increasing capacity and introducing newly upgraded aircraft, responding to increased demand across its network. With these moves, it is enabling more passengers to enjoy the unique in-flight experience that Premium Economy offers.

Emirates’ ambitious fleet upgrade programme is progressing at an impressive pace, with each aircraft undergoing a complete refurbishment every three weeks. Since the programme began in November 2022, Emirates engineers have already upgraded 60 aircraft.

The latest changes to Emirates’ flight schedule, effective from 26 October, include:

Strengthening of routes to Milan with the addition of a third daily flight, EK 101/102. The new flight will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Increasing the frequency of flights EK247/248, which connect Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires, to make them daily.
Strengthening its network to Shanghai from 20 July: flight EK302/303 is upgraded to an Airbus A380, while the second daily flight EK304/305 will be operated with an upgraded Boeing 777.
From this winter, Emirates’ third daily flight between Dubai and Singapore (EK314/315) will be operated with the airline’s flagship Airbus A380.
From 1 February 2026, Emirates will upgrade its second daily flight to Zurich (EK85/86), which will now be operated by an Airbus A380, replacing the existing refurbished Boeing 777. On the same date, Emirates Premium Economy will make its Zurich debut on flight EK87/88, which will be operated by the newly refurbished A380 aircraft.

Despite the dynamic developments in the Middle East region in recent weeks, Emirates is continuing to operate as normal across its network and is ramping up its activities to meet demand this summer and the upcoming winter season.

Passengers can enjoy Emirates’ latest products on board the upgraded Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft, with an enhanced experience across all cabin classes. Emirates’ Boeing 777 offers four seating classes: 6 or 8 First Class suites, 38 or 40 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy seats.

On Emirates’ four-class A380 aircraft, Premium Economy seats are located at the front of the main open cabin and feature 56 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration. Each seat offers ample legroom, ensuring comfort for both work and relaxation, and is equipped with practical amenities such as integrated charging ports and a side table for drinks.
