easyJet supports UNICEF: 2025 summer in-flight donation campaign launched

To support UNICEF’s Children’s Emergency Fund, easyJet is today launching its 2025 summer donation campaign, inviting millions of its passengers to help support the most vulnerable children and families around the world.

The campaign will run throughout the summer season in more than 35 countries, with the airline’s cabin crew collecting donations in-flight, giving passengers the option to give any amount and in any currency. Even the value of a cup of tea on board – around £3.20 – can be converted into 400 water purification tablets, providing safe drinking water to families in need.

Rapid Response to Crisis

The UNICEF Emergency Fund plays a critical role in times of crisis, aiming to mobilize aid within 48 hours of a humanitarian disaster. These resources enable the organization to provide life-saving health services, clean water, nutritional support, and care to children experiencing trauma.

A case in point is UNICEF’s response to the devastating earthquakes in Myanmar in March 2024, where 227 tons of humanitarian supplies were immediately mobilized, providing assistance to over 6 million people, including 2 million children.

Ongoing global crises

Today, around 1 in 6 children worldwide – almost half a billion – live in conflict-affected areas such as Ukraine, Sudan, Yemen, and Gaza. Meanwhile, forgotten crises such as the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh or the ongoing needs in Afghanistan and Ethiopia highlight the huge importance of flexible funding, which enables immediate and effective intervention.

EasyJet’s long-standing partnership with UNICEF

Since their partnership began in 2012, easyJet and its customers have raised over £17 million for UNICEF. This campaign, which coincides with the peak summer tourism season, aims to further strengthen this common cause.

“easyJet is proud to continue to support UNICEF’s vital work for children in greatest need around the world,” said Valeria Cerri, easyJet’s Head of Cabin Crew Europe. “With the generous support of our customers, we can help bring clean water, education, and support to children in desperate need.”

Similarly, Dr. Philip Goodwin, Chief Executive of UNICEF UK, underlined the importance of this partnership: “Funding from partners like easyJet allows UNICEF to provide essential resources to save and protect children around the world.”

Small Offers – Big Difference

With global humanitarian crises escalating, every donation, no matter how small, can help save lives. This year’s easyJet campaign is giving travellers the opportunity to offer more than just their presence in the air: the hope of a better tomorrow for thousands of children in need.
