The international air map to Israel is coming back to life as major European airlines gradually resume flights to Tel Aviv. Despite initial announcements to suspend flights until the winter schedule, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines are returning earlier, restarting their routes from August 1.
Lufthansa plans to offer up to 21 weekly connections from Frankfurt to Tel Aviv, as well as up to 14 flights per week from Munich. Austrian Airlines will also operate up to 14 flights per week from Vienna to Israel. Swiss, for its part, plans to resume its own flights on the Zurich-Tel Aviv route from October 26, with the start of its winter schedule.
At the same time, Israeli airlines continue to connect with European destinations without interruption. El Al already operates up to 11 flights per week from Berlin, 9 from Munich, 7 from Frankfurt, and 8 from Vienna to Tel Aviv. Israir offers up to 5 weekly flights from Berlin, while Arkia is strengthening its connection from Munich with three flights per week from August 2.
The recovery of the air map to Israel will be further strengthened in the autumn, with the addition of new routes from low-cost airlines. EasyJet will start flights from Berlin, Eurowings from D?sseldorf and Hamburg, while Ryanair is planning connections from various German airports. In addition, Bluebird and Wizz Air are expected to start routes from Vienna in early September.
