This summer, KLM will operate flights to 161 destinations worldwide. The number of available seats is increasing by 4%, and the airline expects to carry 64 million passengers during July and August. Significant growth is seen in North America (+9% more flights) and Southern Europe, with 25% more seats to Portugal and Croatia.
Six New Routes Introduced
KLM is launching six new routes this season:
Intercontinental additions include San Diego, Georgetown (Guyana), and Hyderabad (starting in September).
European network additions include Ljubljana, Exeter, and Biarritz.
Bookings for San Diego, Biarritz, and Ljubljana are already showing strong demand. The summer season kicked off with a very busy weekend, as KLM welcomed around 330,000 passengers between July 4–6.
More Flights to Popular Destinations
Demand remains high for European cities like London, Rome, and Berlin. For long-haul travel, passengers are favoring destinations like Tokyo, New York, Cape Town, and Cura?ao.
KLM is strengthening its operations on several key routes:
Intercontinental:
Tanzania: Daily flights to Kilimanjaro/Dar es Salaam (previously 5/week)
Las Vegas: Daily service until August (previously 5/week)
Osaka: Now 5 flights/week, with an extra flight from late September
Tokyo Narita: One additional flight/week from late September
Edmonton: Increasing from 5 to 6 flights/week during peak season
Cape Town: Two additional flights/week from October
Cura?ao: Additional Sunday flight from October
Europe:
Belfast: Two flights/day
Porto: Four flights/day
Barcelona: One extra flight/day
Split: Two flights/day in spring and autumn
Krakow & Pozna?: One extra flight/day
Milan Linate: To improve services, all KLM flights to Milan will be transferred to Linate Airport, which is closer to the city center. Flights to Malpensa will be discontinued.
