Athens Airport | Passenger traffic up 4.6% in June, up 7.6% in the first half

A significant increase was recorded in passenger traffic at Athens’ “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport during June 2025, confirming the continued upward trend of Greek tourism and the dynamic return of air transport.

Specifically, the total number of passengers transported through Athens International Airport in June amounted to 3.45 million, recording an increase of 4.6% compared to June 2024. The positive trend was recorded in both domestic (+1.9%) and international passenger traffic (+5.8%), with international arrivals contributing decisively to the strengthening of overall activity.

June’s strong performance is part of an overall impressive first half for Athens Airport. From January to June 2025, the number of passengers served reached 15.07 million, an increase of 7.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2024. In particular, domestic passenger traffic increased by 2.2%, while international traffic recorded an impressive increase of 9.8%.

The number of flights operated to and from AIA in the first half of the year also increased. In total, 127,992 flights were recorded, a number that increased by 6.8% compared to last year. Of these, domestic flights showed a slight increase of 1.1%, while international flights increased by 10.7%, highlighting Athens’ growing connectivity with the outside world.
