Lufthansa and Ita Airways expand their cooperation with new international routes

From September, Lufthansa and its newly acquired subsidiary Ita Airways are moving into the next phase of their codeshare agreement, strengthening their presence in intercontinental markets.

According to the specialized aviation portal Aeroroutes, the upgrade of the cooperation will include Lufthansa’s connections from Frankfurt and Munich to Delhi and Mumbai, as well as the direct Munich-Seoul route. At the same time, Ita’s routes from Rome to Accra, Dakar and Delhi will also be added to the codeshare network.

In addition, in the middle of the third quarter, an expansion of codeshare flights with Eurowings, a low-cost subsidiary of the Lufthansa group, is planned. The new routes will include connections from Cologne/Bonn to Bologna, Milan, Pisa, Rome, Venice and Verona, as well as from Stuttgart to Milan and Rome.

The expansion of the codeshare network is part of the Lufthansa Group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Italian market and improve connections between Europe, Asia and Africa, leveraging partnerships with its subsidiaries.
