Corendon Airlines: 20% increase in 2026 capacity for Heraklion

Corendon Airlines’ flights to Heraklion, Crete, from the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland will be increased by 20% in the summer of 2026.

At the same time, the airline, as part of its philosophy of investing in routes with good performance, plans to increase flight capacity at its main hub in Greece, Heraklion, by 26%, from the UK market.

Additional capacity is also planned for Turkey, which, however, shows a single-digit increase.

According to Corendon’s UK Country Manager, Matthew Carpenter, for 2026 the airline is doubling the routes that have performed well for it. For example, the two weekly flights to Antalya from Stansted Airport will increase to five during the shoulder months of 2026 and to weekly during the peak season.

During the summer period from April to October 2026, capacity from the UK will increase by 9% compared to 2025, with more balanced routes and higher weekly frequencies on key leisure routes, providing travellers and trading partners with greater choice and reliability of routes.

In fact, Corendon Airlines has extended its booking system to allow bookings to be made 700 days in advance of departure, allowing routes to be “opened” earlier for bookings.

Looking ahead to 2025, Mr Carpenter estimates that it will end with a 6% increase in load factor across the carrier’s UK flights and healthy average fare growth, driven by a combination of optimised programme improvements and stronger partnerships.

He added that Corendon will continue its UK market growth strategy by strengthening relationships with and incentivising travel agents. It will also focus on B2C marketing around the regional airports it operates from and work to increase Corendon’s brand awareness in the UK.
