Emirates is ramping up its recruitment efforts in Greece to meet the significant increase in demand from the passenger community. The airline is holding a pilot roadshow in Athens on 8 and 9 December, with the aim of attracting experienced professional pilots.
The Group is launching a global recruitment campaign, aiming to recruit 17,300 professionals across 350 specialties in the current financial year.
The upcoming event will be held at the Divani Caravel Hotel on 8 December at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, and on 9 December at 10:00 am. Experienced pilots interested in joining Emirates as First Officers Type Rated, Direct Entry Captains or through the Accelerated Command Programme are welcome to attend. The airline recently announced its commitment to recruit more than 1,500 pilots over the next two years, with a target of 550 this year.
It is worth noting that there is no pre-registration required and pilots simply need to attend one of the available meetings. During the event, interested pilots will have the opportunity to learn about the recruitment process, available opportunities, training programs, expected career progression and benefits, as well as talk to pilots who are already flying with Emirates.
Ahmad Tamim, Country Manager, Emirates, said: “Emirates pilots fly one of the youngest and most modern fleets of exclusively wide-body aircraft in the world, serving more than 152 destinations. They will have the opportunity to participate in intensive in-house training at Emirates’ state-of-the-art training facilities, while being based in the vibrant city of Dubai. We look forward to welcoming more pilots from Greece to Emirates as we strengthen our global operations.”
Flying with Emirates
With a network spanning 152 destinations, Emirates pilots have the opportunity to fly on a particularly diverse schedule. The airline has already taken delivery of the first 13 Airbus A350s, out of a total order of 65 aircraft. It is also awaiting delivery of the Boeing 777X, for which it has ordered a total of 205 aircraft.
Emirates offers a comprehensive benefits package to pilots and their families, which includes a competitive tax-free salary, 42 days of annual leave with tickets for themselves and immediate family members, company housing in gated communities, children’s education allowance, life insurance as well as medical and dental coverage. In addition, significant travel discounts are provided for the wider family and friendly environment, along with a host of additional benefits.
Advanced education and training
Emirates offers new pilots comprehensive in-house training, based on evidence- and competency-based methodology, to facilitate their smooth integration into their new role. Successful candidates will complete their training programs at Emirates’ advanced pilot training facility in Dubai, which currently has ten flight simulators.
Emirates’ new and highly advanced training facility spans 63,318 square meters and is a $135 million investment. The facility
includes six Full Flight Simulator Bays for the A350 and 777X aircraft, and is scheduled to be operational soon.
