Summer 2026: Surge in new flights to Greece – Dynamic additions from LOT, Eurowings, easyJet and Wizz Air

Greece is entering the spotlight of the European aviation map for summer 2026, as major airlines strengthen the country’s connectivity with new routes from key European markets. Poland, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands are boosting Greek tourism with renewed frequencies and new flight additions, driving demand upward across many Greek destinations.

Interest from major airlines in new and expanded connections to Greece is heating up for summer 2026, confirming the positive momentum ahead of the upcoming season.

New route additions from LOT Polish Airlines, Eurowings, easyJet and Wizz Air are already shaping one of the strongest summer schedules of recent years for Greece, supporting the islands and major airports with new direct connections from Europe.

LOT Polish Airlines has added to its systems the new Warsaw – Heraklion connection, which will begin on 30 May 2026. The route will operate three times per week with a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, further strengthening Heraklion’s position in the Polish market.

Every Friday, flight LO619 will depart Warsaw at 10:20 and land in Heraklion at 14:15, while the return flight (LO620) will depart Heraklion at 15:20 and arrive in Warsaw at 17:10.

On Mondays and Saturdays, departure from Warsaw will be at 11:45 with arrival at 15:40, while the return flight will depart at 16:40 and land in Warsaw at 18:30.

At the same time, Eurowings is strengthening its Berlin schedule for the summer season, adding the new Berlin – Kavala connection, which will operate from 12 July to 23 August 2026 with one weekly flight using an Airbus A320.

In total, Eurowings will fly from Berlin to 43 destinations in 20 countries this summer. To support the expanded schedule, the airline is increasing its stationed aircraft at Berlin Airport (BER) from seven to nine.

easyJet: Five new connections with Greece
easyJet is also making significant moves, further expanding its network to Greek destinations. Specifically, the airline will offer two new connections to Thessaloniki: one from Amsterdam, beginning 29 March 2026, and one from Bristol, beginning 27 June. These flights will operate twice weekly using an A320 aircraft.

Additionally, easyJet will offer the new Manchester – Preveza connection, reinstating the route last operated in September 2023. These flights will start on 24 June and will run twice weekly with an A320 aircraft.

At the same time, the carrier is reinstating after years of absence the Newcastle – Corfu (from 3 April) and Newcastle – Rhodes (from 31 March) routes. Frequency for both will also be twice weekly.

Wizz Air: New connections with Mykonos, Chania, Rhodes and Zakynthos
The largest refresh in the summer 2026 program, however, comes from Wizz Air, which is significantly expanding its presence in Greece. From Luton, it is introducing four new routes to Mykonos, Chania, Rhodes and Zakynthos, with ticket prices starting at £44.9. Flights to Mykonos will operate three times weekly, while the routes to Chania, Rhodes and Zakynthos will run twice weekly.

At the same time, the airline is also strengthening its presence in Poland, opening a new operational base in Warsaw Modlin, from which it launched a new connection to Athens on 1 December 2025, operating four weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday). The base has two Airbus A321neo aircraft and a total of 11 new destinations, confirming Greece’s strategic role in Wizz Air’s network ahead of summer 2026.
