HCAA: Passenger Traffic Reaches 79.9 Million in 11 Months

Passenger traffic increased by 9.5% during the eleven-month period of 2025 across all Greek airports operating commercial flights (39 airports: 24 HCAA, 14 FRAPORT GREECE, Athens International Airport).

Specifically, according to data presented by the HCAA, passenger traffic during January–November 2025 reached 79,881,208 compared to 72,932,962 passengers for the same period in 2024.

Regarding aircraft movements (arrivals and departures of domestic and international flights), for January–November 2025, across all 39 airports under HCAA air traffic control, there was an increase of 9.3% compared to 2024, with a total of 600,625 flights conducted versus 549,439 flights in 2024.

At the 24 state airports managed by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupoli, Lemnos, Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastelorizo, Kasos, Leros, Sitia), the eleven-month passenger increase reached +6.8% compared to the same period in 2024.

According to statistics, total passengers (arrivals and departures, domestic and international) from January to November 2025 reached 12,540,242, compared to 11,744,159 passengers in 2024.

Heraklion “Nikos Kazantzakis” Airport served 245,969 passengers in November 2025, marking a 9.2% increase compared to the same month last year. Record passenger traffic for the eleven-month period was also reported at several other state airports, including Nea Anchialos (+46.3%), Syros (+39.6%), and Naxos (+17.8%).

Statistics for January–November 2025 show a 9.5% increase in passenger traffic and a 9.3% rise in aircraft movements across all 39 airports.
