Touristic potential

The municipal network will utilize the materials and tools created within the project, while simultaneously aiming to acquire sustainable perspective, wide-ranging scope and national character, in order to continue the campaign after the completion of the initial stages.

The initiative was adopted by the Central Municipal Association of Greece and is expected to include at least twenty Municipal Development Companies in conjuction with local authorities.

The project will seek to strengthen the touristic potential of each respective region by ultimately establishing a national “Network of Fine Greek Cuisine” which will include at least one product from each respective area and represent geographically the greatest possible part of the country.

Also, incorporate select local products of Protected Destination of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) into the “Network of Fine Greek Cuisine”, investigate the possibility of creating the brand name “Fine Greek taste” or “Fine Greek Product” with certified local products, connect operators and enterprises associated with fine produce, gastronomy, agrotourism and tourism, and generally act as cooperating network operator for the implementation of related collective activities.

It is noteworthy that the municipalities of Tripoli, Pella, Propontis, North Kynouria and Cassandra have already announced their enthusiastic participation in the network.
