With the participation of 359 samples (a number up 22 pct from last year), a 20-member panel of judges completed the evaluation procedures of the “Athena International Olive Oil Competition (ATHIOOC) held in Delphi, ANA reports.
The judges awarded 13 grand gold medals, 100 gold medals, 89 silver medals and 40 bronze medals – or 242 in total – to olive oils from various countries. The prize for the best olive oil in the competition was awarded to Palacio de los Olivos, from Andalucia in Spain.
The award ceremony will take place at the Zappeio Hall in Athens, April 28.
