The Greek street food restaurant “The Athenian” has been awarded the title of Best Restaurant in the UK by food delivery giant Deliveroo at the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards, held virtually on Monday, according to the greekreporter.com
Founded by Efthymios Vasilakis and Neofytos Christodoulou, born and raised in Greece and Cyprus, respectively, The Athenian serves up the very best of all the Greek street foods — souvlaki — using authentic recipes and the highest quality ingredients.
Souvlaki lovers can order an authentic Greek gyro at any of The Athenian’s many locations across the UK. They serve up delicious chicken, pork, or fried taglani cheese wrapped in a homemade pita and topped with french fries, onion, tomato, lettuce, parsley and a choice of three staple sauces — tyrokafteri, tzatziki, or The Athenian’s special Souvlaki Sauce.
While the Greek restaurant rose to fame for its delicious, authentic souvlaki, its also gained new fans due to its impressive response to the coronavirus pandemic this past year.
