Among other things, at the Cherry Festival, visitors will enjoy recipes made with cherries, go hiking in the area, take a tour of the village’s Cultural Center and participate in interesting concerts.

In addition, activities for children are planned, which include educational entertainment, such as artistic constructions with a cherry theme.

Metaxochori yesterday and today

Metaxochori of Larissa, formerly known as Retsiani, took its modern name from its connection with silk production, which was important for its economy during the 17th and 18th centuries.

The fertility of the soil and the rich cotton production contributed to the development of the textile industry, with the village becoming famous for its silk threads and products. This tradition continues to this day, with Metaxochori preserving its cultural heritage and attracting visitors interested in its history and traditions.

To today’s travelers, Metaxochori is known for its exquisitely architectural traditional houses, Byzantine churches, and natural beauty. These elements make it a popular destination for travelers wishing to explore the Kissavos region.

It is noted that the village is located a short distance from Larissa, which makes it accessible for those who wish to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside near the city.
