The city was surrounded by very strong walls, which were renovated in the 6th century BC by the Byzantine emperor Justinian, according to the historian Procopius. It is noted that many of the archaeological finds of the Metropolis are located in the Archaeological Museum of Karditsa.
Furthermore, in the large square of the settlement, the visitor will admire the ancient ceramic kiln that is placed in a specially designed shelter, as well as the old preserved I. N. of Agios Georgios with the impressive iconostasis. Finally, the modern open-air theater of the Metropolis hosts many and varied events every year.
